International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP)
Calgary International Academy is a Candidate School for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme. The IB PYP focuses on the development of the whole child as an inquirer, both in school and in the world beyond.
Students explore six transdisciplinary themes of global significance (Who We Are, Where We Are in Place and Time, How We Express Ourselves, How the World Works, How We Organize Ourselves, Sharing the Planet).
Learners are encouraged to take responsible, student-initiated action in their community, demonstrating real-world problem solving and empathy.
Integrated STEAM & Artificial Intelligence Learning
Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) are integrated seamlessly across all grade levels. Rather than treating technology as a passive screen experience, students use digital tools and AI concepts to build, experiment, and express creativity.
